About
Hi! I’m Sam, and I’m an aspiring filmmaker. Film and its many facets have fascinated me since I was young. I picked up my first camera at eight, and by ten I was entering short films into local festivals — something I’ve kept doing ever since. I’ve been fortunate to receive several awards at the MyState Student Film Festival and have had films nominated at the Australia Youth Film Festival, the Young Australian Film Festival, and the Sparrowland Short Film Festival.
I try to incorporate filmmaking into my school, university and other creative projects whenever I can. I grew up in lutruwita / Tasmania and now live in narrm / Melbourne, where I continue to explore and grow in this medium I love.
I’m 19 now, currently completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne. While I’ve had some great experiences, I know there’s still so much to learn. I’m always open to new perspectives, collaborations, and ways to branch out creatively.
